China Banking and Insurance Media Company Limited (CBIMC) recently released the “List of Banks by Comprehensive ESG Performance 2023” at the “ESG Development Forum of the Banking Industry 2023”. ICBC topped the list. Besides, ICBC’s case “Actively Hold Public Welfare Activities and Fully Support Rural Revitalization” won “Model ESG CSR Case in the Banking Industry of the Year 2023”.

The “List of Banks by Comprehensive ESG Performance 2023” ranked banks by their scores obtained based on the information disclosure reports released by banks, data disclosed by the government and data released through other public channels. The assessment indicators include three levels of indicators. The first level include three indicators—environmental, social and governance indicators. The second level include 18 core ESG topics concerning important ESG factors in environmental, social and governance areas. The third level are refined based on the second level and include 78 indicators.

With its hard indexes and soft strength in ESG governance, green finance and social areas in recent years, ICBC topped the list and won “Model ESG CSR Case in the Banking Industry of the Year 2023”.

CBIMC is a news media enterprise administered by the National Administration of Financial Regulation.
