Recently, “ICBC Sight Initiative”, a public welfare brand of ICBC Group, wins the “Best Practice Case Award” for sustainable development conferred by China Association for Public Companies and the “Bright Merit Award” conferred by Chinese Foundation for Lifeline Express.
“ICBC Sight Initiative” public welfare collaboration case wins the “Best Practice Case Award”
In the selection of 2024 practice cases for sustainable development of listed companies organized by China Association for Public Companies, the “ICBC Sight Initiative” Boosts the Rural Revitalization in China by Resources Sharing and Mechanism Collaboration submitted by ICBC stood out among nearly 600 cases and won the “Best Practice Case Award”. This is the third consecutive year that the Bank has won such an award. “ICBC Sight Initiative” is the only case among domestic listed companies that relies on public welfare brands to promote the construction of a sustainable development ecosystem, showcasing ICBC’s path innovation in supporting rural revitalization.
“ICBC Sight Initiative – Lifeline Express” public welfare project wins the “Bright Merit Award”
At the “27th Anniversary of Lifeline Express and 2024 Annual Summary and Commendation Conference of Chinese Foundation for Lifeline Express” hosted by the Chinese Foundation for Lifeline Express, the “ICBC Sight Initiative – Lifeline Express”, a public welfare project of ICBC, won the “Bright Merit Award” for the 13th time. Since 2008, ICBC has accumulatively donated RMB33.40 million through “Lifeline Express” train hospital project. It has carried out medical treatment activities in 11 provinces including Guizhou, Inner Mongolia, Yunnan, Henan, Shanxi, Jilin, Gansu, Sichuan, Hubei, Xinjiang, and Shandong, helping over 14 thousand cataract patients regain their sight. In addition to direct treatment, ICBC also funded the construction of five ophthalmology centers in Hohhot of Inner Mongolia, Chuxiong of Yunnan, Bazhong of Sichuan, Siping of Jilin, and Haidong of Qinghai, providing teaching and training for local ophthalmologists, and leaving behind a series of permanent Lifeline Expresses. Besides, ICBC launched the “ICBC Sight Initiative” donation platform online, to continuously promote public welfare concepts, enhance project influence, and call on the public to pay attention to and support this public welfare cause.
Based on long-term public welfare practice, ICBC took the lead among peers to launch the “ICBC Sight Initiative” group public welfare brand at the end of 2021. With “Love, Walk towards Brightness” as the brand concept, ICBC coordinates its bank-wide “finance + public welfare” activities relying on key public welfare projects such as “Lifeline Express” and “Childlike Innocence Harbor”. Since its launch three years ago, the “ICBC Sight Initiative” brand has won nearly 20 awards for public welfare projects and cases.
