ICBC Issues Over Six Million Global Travel Credit Cards
 

ICBC has seen rapid growth in Global Travel Credit Card which is tailored to the cross-border business travelers. Currently more than six million cards have been issued, the largest among the domestic credit cards for business travelers, with a total consumption value of over RMB 150 billion.

The Global Travel Credit Card supports ten foreign currencies, including USD, EUR, HKD, GBP, JPY, SGD, CAD, AUD, CHF and NZD. No matter which currency the cardholders use abroad, the system can automatically debit the consumption amount to the corresponding foreign currency account, free of any conversion charges. In addition, ICBC has creatively launched global select districts for preferential business and tourism services covering ten enterprises in ten industries or outbound destinations, allowing cardholders to enjoy select preferential services in ten industries including aviation, hotel, shopping and leisure, refund in cash, travel, overseas study, airport VIP, car rental, tax rebate, and rescue. Currently, the number of cooperative enterprises of the Global Travel Credit Card has reached 70, with more than 100 cooperative brands. Notably, as an all-currency chip card, the Global Travel Credit Card adopts the chip of the domestic generic POBC standard and international generic EMV standard, improving the security of domestic and overseas mobile payment.

An official with ICBC said that the Bank has issued more than 110 million of credit cards, making it the biggest card issuing bank in Asia. It is also the only commercial bank that cooperates with six international card issuers including UnionPay, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB and Diners, with credit cards issued in 22 countries and territories in Asia, Europe, Oceania, North America and South America.
