Earlier, the Forbes (US) released its 2012 ranking of the world's 2,000 largest corporations (The Forbes Global 2000). ICBC is the only Chinese financial institution among the top 10, jumping two places to No. 5.

Instead it is based on a mix of four metrics - sales, profit, assets and market value. Being ranked fifth on 2012 Forbes Global 2,000 List is a confirmation to ICBC from the authoritative professionals and media.
