At the "China Listed Company Board of Directors Round Table Forum & Eighth 'Round Table Award' Program" hosted by the Directors & Boards magazine in collaboration with all the listed company associations in the country in Beijing on May 19, 2012, ICBC won the "Excellent Board of Directors" for the third consecutive year.

The Directors & Boards is the only financial periodical in the country dedicated to the latest developments in corporate governance. The magazine runs the annual Award Program of "China Listed Company Board of Directors Round Table Awards", which exerts strong brand influence in the listed companies and non-listed companies in China. Now in its eighth year, the Award Program serves as a benchmark to gauge the corporate governance of China listed companies. The judging panel screened out the first 100 finalists gauged by a scheme of 6 indexes: structure, behavior and performance of the Board, due diligence to the shareholder interest, external comments on the Board, jointly laid down by the School of Business, Nanjing University, the Enterprises Institute, Nanjing University and the Research Department of Directors & Boards. Application material submitted by the nominated companies and the market data were used as references. The winners of "Excellent Board of Directors" and "Best Board of Directors" were then selected through scoring from all the listed company associations in the country and voted for online by the retail investors. Winning the award was a testimony to ICBC's efforts in corporate governance, board of directors and board secretary's performance.
