JSE Closes Higher as Naspers Recovers-June 13
 

Share prices on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) closed firmer on Tuesday.

The all share index was up 0.12 percent to 51,625.07 points at close, as Naspers rebounded in line with Hong Kong-listed Tencent, in which the media group has a 34 percent stake.

Naspers's share price regained alongside with Richmond and that led to the industrial index closing 0.33 percent higher.

The South Africa's rand was trading at R12.77 to the U.S. dollar, R14.32 to the euro from and at R16.23 to the pound at 5:00 p.m. (CAT).

Among some individual stocks, Naspers regained 0.7 percent to R2, 542.76, with Richemont gaining 2.09 percent to R105.6.

Among platinum stocks, Impala Platinum was up 1.15 percent to R36.88, but AngloGold Ashanti shed 3.75 percent to R145.8 and Gold Fields dropped 1.79 percent to R46.2.

Financial shares were among the busiest on the JSE. Barclays Africa declined 0.83 percent to R147.67, but Standard Bank was 0.14 percent stronger at R143.3 and FirstRand gained 0.23 percent to R47.7.
