British stocks decreased on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.68 percent, or 51.10 points, to close at 7,472.71 points.
Paddy Power Betfair, a large British bookmaking business, soared 1.58 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Smurfit Kappa Group and AstraZeneca increased by 1.45 percent and 1.35 percent, respectively.
The British mining company Antofagasta was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 4.67 percent. Glencore, an international commodity trading and mining company, dropped 3.94 percent. Another large multinational mining and metals company BHP Billiton, fell 3.31 percent.
