FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Wednesday rose by 0.21 percent, or 15.02 points, to 7,290.49 points.
Share price of Anglo American increased by 3.84 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Dixons Carphone, Worldpay Group, BT Group and Smiths Group increased by 3.60 percent, 2.39 percent, 2.36 percent and 1.96 percent respectively.
TUI led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 4.53 percent, following by Fresnillo (3.56 percent), Shire (3.16 percent), Morrison Supermarkets (2.64 percent) and Taylor Wimpey (2.46 percent).
